Hi Sheila! I'm new to Table at Home (hence no reviews yet), but a veteran cook (see my profile). Would love to cook for you guys and tweak the menu if necessary (we can consider other sauces, sides, etc). I have the best source for Maine scallop: a company called Downeast Dayboat (they would be overnighted right after harvest). Some of the pictures below are not necessarily the exact same dish described, but just so you get the main idea. Also, I would like try to bring someone with me (would need to check their availability once you confirm) so that he can help me and waiter. Would that be ok? Obviously this would be included in my fee.

About Me

Rodrigo is a Michelin-trained chef who has worked with some of the biggest names in the culinary world, including Joan Roca from El Celler de Can Roca (twice No. 1 restaurant in the world – “The World’s 50 Best” – 3 Michelin Stars), Gaggan Anand from Gaggan (four consecutive times No. 1 restaurant in Asia – “Asia’s 50 Best” – 2 Michelin Stars), and Michael Anthony from the prestigious Michelin stared Gramercy Tavern. He graduated with distinction and top of his class from the International Culinary Center (ICC) in NYC (founded as the French Culinary Institute). ICC alumni have received over 150 Michelin stars.
Inspired by his Latin background and fascination for Asian cuisines, several of his dishes fuse ingredients and techniques from these gastronomic cultures, like his cured king salmon crudo with chipotle ponzu and crispy capers. He also loves preparing classic (European) dishes, often with a fresh twist, like his seared scallops with yuzu-white truffle hollandaise.

  • Rodrigo came to my home yesterday to instruct/cook brunch for 10 women celebrating two of their birthdays. Rodrigo did a fabulous job. Everyone had an amazing time and have been exchanging ecstatic emails ever since! First of all the food was delicious, fun and just what we were wanting and expecting.. even better, Rodrigo was a total professional from start to finish. We exchanged helpful communication before the event; he arrived promptly; came fully prepared with the food and necessary cooking utensils and even had copies of the menu with recipes for everyone. He is knowledgeable as well as very personable and enjoyable. Everyone is anxious to have another event so they can have him back!! I would not hesitate.

He was flexible/helpful with the menu creation, arrived early, was super personable / respectful, worked with a less than ideal kitchen setup, and created an absolutely delicious meal that my guests (9 people in total) loved (and then left the kitchen spotless after). We couldn’t be happier with how this worked out and plan to do it again soon.

  • We had a wonderful birthday party thanks to Rodrigo. He was very communicative throughout the process and accommodating to our food tastes and allergies. The food was tasty and plentiful for leftovers. Everyone loved the mole, even the kids tried it. Desert soufflés were over the top and at the end cleanup was quick and spotless.

  • This was my first time using Table at Home, and my first time hiring a private chef. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless and easy. Chef Rodrigo was very responsive, flexible, and accommodating of our unique circumstances. But most importantly, we were blown away by the meal - this was truly a Michelin-star caliber meal in the comfort of our home. And I swear he left our kitchen cleaner than it was when he arrived - even without a dishwasher! If you're on the fence about trying a private chef, or if you're having trouble choosing one over the other, I promise - you will LOVE the experience of working with Chef Rodrigo. I absolutely will be hiring him again for our next special occasion. Thank you Chef!

  • Rodrigo’s dinner was everything we hoped it would be. The attention to detail and variety of flavors made it an unforgettable meal. His respectful demeanor and flexibility made the whole process easy and comfortable. I would highly recommend Rodrigo for his food and his character. Our favorite dishes were the beef tartare, tiradito and mamey ice cream. We wanted a unique dinner and that’s exactly what he provided. You won’t be disappointed!

  • Chef Rodrigo entitled his proposal "Sublime Italian Meal for 6." What he delivered was all that and more! He was so easy to work with, and enthusiastic in sharing ideas about how he could help create a menu that our guest of honor would love. Every course had a surprise touch that elevated the dishes from great to singular - Asian pear in the butternut squash ravioli, crispy leeks and a Japanese citrus in the burrata salad - and the presentation of each dish was beautiful as well, The personalized menu keepsakes were a lovely touch, and as other commenters mentioned, Rodrigo cleaned our kitchen thoroughly (including washing my grandmother's china by hand, which I really appreciated). We enjoyed having Rodrigo in our home, and he was gracious about answering my curious questions about cooking. I look forward to the next time I can hire him for a special event.

  • My wife and I used Table at Home for a 2-person multi-course dinner for Valentine's Day. As parents of two young ones under 5, going out for a nice meal is not as easy as it used to be. Table at Home provided the perfect solution and Chef Rodrigo was absolutely outstanding!!! I honestly struggle to find words to describe how great the meal was. In fact, calling it a meal is insulting....it was an EXPERIENCE. Chef Rodrigo makes everything himself, with flawless technique and deep flavors. He was a courteous and consummate host, but it was our house! If you're interested in a Michelin level dining experience in your own home choose Rodrigo!
