I was lucky to know that food and cooking was something I loved from early childhood. Many memories from my Oma’s garden and cooking with her in the Netherlands inspired me, as well as growing a career with fine restaurants, hotels, and private clubs all over the United States. Ritz-Carlton Hotels, Gordon Restaurant, The University Club, Rhapsody Restaurant, and The Greenbrier are a part of a career ladder that extends for over 35 years. I was able to bring my passion to Chicago via de Quay, an excellent and well received Dutch/Indonesian restaurant. That unique Euro/Asian blend, as well as many other styles, ethnicities, and solid pastry/baking training at the French Pastry School enable me to make your dining experience something truly special.
